Wedding Ceremony

Pienza

The idea of creating the town of Pienza came out on the 22nd of February 1459 when Pope Pio II visiting his birthplace noted the misery and decadence of the place.

The Popes' intention was to transform the ancient medieval hamlet into a modern town. The works lasted little more than three years. The Renaissance town planners succeeded in creating a unique and harmonious space that survives today, making Pienza one of the most important examples of 15th century architecture in Europe.

The town of Pienza itself is a jewel of Renaissance architecture and city planning, with wonderful shops featuring the local specialty such as pecorino cheese and handmade leather goods. Pienza is the ideal walking town, full of fascinating cobbled alleys and stone archways, and a famous central square. Your wedding in Piena will be like a ceremony taking place in a hall in the open air.

Civil Ceremony

Palazzo Comunale di Pienza

Civil weddings take place in the 15th century Palazzo Comunale of Pienza that stands on the beautiful Piazza del Duomo. The façade of the palace is in renaissance style with a lovely loggia and wide decorative windows. The wedding hall preserves the typical Gothic furniture with beautiful frescoes, antique chandeliers and historical heraldic devices. The hall is illuminated by large windows facing the lovely Piazza del Duomo. The hall can host up to 40 guests. Pienza is the deal venue either for small or medium size wedding ceremonies.
