Villa Durazzo

Santa Margherita Ligure

Santa Margherita Ligure is that wonderfully old-fashioned kind of Riviera resort where palm fronds wave along the esplanade.

It is situated in the wonderful Riviera Ligure where ancient architecture matches with the modern comforts. The small hill dominating the waterfront is an interesting place to explore. Behind the small Castello and the severely striped Chiesa dei Frati Cappuccini are intriguing overgrown passageways prowled by semi-wild cats.

Civil Ceremony

Villa Durazzo

Villa Durazzo is set in a stunning park located on a hill overlooking the gulf of Santa Margherita Ligure and it is the ideal place to perform civil ceremonies in a historical and romantic athmosphere. The 17th century building is adorned with statues and rich paintings, tapestries, marbles, ceramics and Venetian chandeliers. It is enchanting to walk through these majestic rooms in the footsteps of the noble owners of the past: De Ferrari, Borzone and Piola are some of the great artists from the past whose precious canvases you can admire. You feel a magical sense of splendour outside too in the magnificent park that surrounds the house. The English wooded area, a small citrus grove, and the Romantic zone are some of the picturesque highlights. This garden is also twinned with the spectacular Hanbury Gardens of la Mortola on the opposite side of the Riviera.

Inside, two beautiful rooms can be the theatre of the ceremony:

  • The Sala Vaymer in neoclassical style is adorned with pcitures of 17th century and it is perfect for ceremonies of about 50 guests;
  • The enormous Salone degli Stucchi situated in the Piano Nobile of the Villa suitable for weddings with 100 guest.
