Siena
Siena is one of the most fascinating and romantic towns of Tuscany. It is located in the hearth of the countryside and preserves its medieval character to a remarkable degree.
Its beautiful Gothic buildings including the Cathedral and the Palazzo Pubblico as well as the numerous Romanic churches can be the perfect setting for your wedding ceremony. The beautiful “Piazza del Campo” is one of the most gorgeous and famous squares in Italy. The square was paved in 1333 signalling its importance in the civic life and it is the place where the famous “Palio” (a medieval horse race) takes place twice a year.

The Palazzo Pubblico Wedding Hall
The Palazzo Pubblico is the most monumental building around the Campo square, the most important public space in Siena. The Palazzo, once housed the Podestà and the Council, is made of red brick (typical of Siena) with a travertine base and presents the image of a fortress. The Gothic mullioned windows were later copied in other Senese buildings. Civil ceremonies are performed in the beautiful “Sala del Concistoro” , used for political meetings during the Republic of Siena. The all is adorned by beautiful frescos of the famous Italian painter Beccafumi.

Inside the church has the shape of an Egyptian cross with a transept, a square apse, bare beams beneath the roof and a very huge single nave.
A wonderful atmosphere of meditation and ecstasy empathised by coloured light pouring in through the beautiful stained glass windows fills the place.

A beautiful Certosa was built in the open countryside on the border between the states of Florence and Siena.. In 1385, the state of Siena, acknowledging the importance of the settlement, had strong walls built around it. In the same year, Stefano Maconi, Saint Catherine's favourite disciple, was appointed prior of Pontignano. It was probably he who obtained the relic of the ring finger of the Saint - the chapel, later painted with frescoes by Nasini, was built to host it. The Certosa also enjoyed the protection of Gian Galeazzo Visconti due to the reputation acquired by a monk from Pontignano who oversaw a large part of the building work in the Certosa of Pavia.
The church beautiful and has a spectacular cloister with garden, perfect for pictures after the ceremony.
